Julia had an amazing senior session! A few years back I had the opportunity to photograph Julia’s older sister.  I first met their family when I did her senior pictures.  Looking back, I so wish I had blogged her session too because it would have been cool to see them both.  Originally we were supposed to do Julia’s senior pictures in Downtown Long Grove.  Apple fest was in town so we had to find a new location.  We decided to split her session between two different locations.  We started in a shopping district in Vernon Hills.  Starting with some fun casual photos in the shopping area, we then drove across town and did some more at a local park.

The shoot!

While we were doing pictures at the local park there were tons of kids taking pictures for homecoming.  We kind of just walked away from the people and that’s where the magic happened!   I’ve photographed at this park countless times and this time I found beautiful, unique areas of the park that I didn’t even know existed.

Throughout the session, Julia would ask if we could do certain things or shoot in certain areas.   I loved that she had an artistic eye and so we kind of just went with the flow.  At some point we came across this most amazing bridge. I asked Julia if she was comfortable walking across the bridge to do photos there.  I’m so glad she was on board because those photos are some of my most favorite senior pictures ever!

At the very end of Julia’s session she asked if she could dip her feet in the water.   I was like, girl, you can climb in the fountain!!!  Needless to say, she got wet!  But the photos were magic and I sent her home with one of my quilts to stay warm.

What a beautiful session.  Julia was such a breath of fresh air and I just loved getting to work with her.  Some day, I may reach out to her for a fun creative shoot because I think she’d be just amazing at anything she sets her mind to!
